PERIDOT

Super 200's Wool Worsted

Introducing our exclusive range of superfine 13.5 micron, Super 200’s merino wool, inspired by the exquisite colours of the peridot gemstone. This dazzling stone is named after the French word ‘peritot’, meaning gold.

Depending on the light the stone can vary from numerous shades of green including lime and lemon tones accentuated by gold.

Peridot has long been called ‘an evening emerald’, for under artificial light, the stone glows a vibrant green. Iridescent shades of lime green, dark olive and gold make the richness of its natural colour exceptional. Derived from the Greek word ‘peridona’, which means ‘to give richness’, peridot is often associated with good fortune and prosperity. Symbolising joy, creativity and love peridot is known as the stone of compassion.

The wool for this collection has been responsibly sourced from the New South Wales region in Australia. Its climate, especially in the inland areas, is perfect for fine wool production and the merino sheep produce superfine wool of excellent colour and soft handle under these conditions.

Fabrics have been designed in an attractive range of blue, green and gold tones and woven in 2/2 twill, prunelle and hopsack weave constructions. Featuring a wide range of shadow stripes, windowpanes, split matt checks, sharkskin and birdseye patterns, also included are lurex fabrics and 22ct gold stripes and windowpanes, ideal for evening wear.

Opulent colours and a rich, elegant handle and drape give this cloth exceptional tailoring capabilities, and is the epitome of style, beauty and sophistication.
